La Chaise Chair was designed by the famous designer couple Charles and Ray Eames in 1948. The chair was inspired by the sculpture "Floating Figure" by modern artist Gaston Lachaise. This design by the Eameses was designed for the "Low-Cost Furniture Design" competition organized by MoMA (New York Museum of Modern Art) and immediately attracted great attention. The chair's unique and innovative design revolutionized the concept of modern furniture at the time. La Chaise was not commercially produced due to high production costs at the time it was designed. However, it was re-produced by Vitra in the 1990s and has taken its place among modern design icons today.
