Designed by the famous Danish designer Hans J. Wegner, the Ox Chair is considered a sculptural and bold piece in the world of modern furniture. With its characteristic "ox horn" shaped headrest on the back and its voluminous body, this chair offers a high-level experience in terms of both aesthetics and comfort. Its internal frame is made of solid wood and covered with high-quality leather or fabric upholstery. Its stainless steel legs add a modern touch to the chair while also increasing its durability.
Date
The Ox Chair was designed by Hans J. Wegner in 1960. With this design, Wegner challenged the simple and functional Scandinavian furniture concept of the period and exhibited a more sculptural and artistic approach. The chair's headrest took its name from its form resembling ox horns. It was first produced in 1960, but due to production difficulties, it was produced in limited numbers. It was put back into production by the Erik Jørgensen Furniture Factory in 1989 and continues to be produced by Fredericia Furniture today. The Ox Chair is considered one of the iconic pieces of modern design and is exhibited in many design museums around the world.
